CompassionKnit. Started in Sudbury, MA to coordinate the donation of hand-knit cold weather accessories to local homeless communities. Donate knitted or crocheted hats, scarfs and/or mittens or collect these accessories in your community.
The Mother Bear Project. A grass-roots, non- profit group dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children, primarily those affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of hand-knit and crocheted bears.

The Women's Lunch Place. A day-time community in Boston for poor and homeless women and their children. Donations of handmade socks, hats, mittens, yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks; women’s and unisex clothing in larger sizes; new socks and women’s undergarments; new trial and family-size shampoo and soap; combs and toothbrushes; and unused cosmetics, perfume, nail polish much appreciated.
