The New York State Sheep and Wool Festival (aka Rhinebeck) is one of the largest sheep festivals in the country with a marketplace of more than 350 vendors and takes place at the peak of fall foliage season in Hudson Valley. We will depart Boston at 1:00 pm on Friday afternoon and stop at Colorful Stitches in Lenox on our way to Rhinebeck. we will stay at the Holiday Inn in nearby Kingston, NY. On Saturday morning we'll arrive at the festival as soon as the gates open to have our pick of the marketplace. That evening we'll visit nearby Morehouse Merinos, which stays open late during the festival. We will return to the Festival on Sunday morning to see the rest of the exhibits, revisit our favorite vendors, take another workshop, or purchase whatever we regretted leaving behind the day before. We will get back to Boston at approximately 6:00 pm on Sunday evening.
On Friday afternoon, we will pick up at the Woburn Anderson Regional Transportation Center at 12:15 pm; Copley Square directly across from the Fairmont Copley Plaza at 12:45 pm, and the Newton Riverside Terminal at 1:00 pm. Yarn Safaris is also offering a day trip to the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival on Saturday, October 20 from Springfield, MA. We will pick up at the Springfield Park & Ride Lot on Allen Street at Cooley Street (FiveTownPlaza) at 7:30 am and arrive at the Festival at approximately 9:30 pm. We will depart the Festival at 5:00 pm and return to Springfield at 7:00 pm.
